Nikki Bahr L.

Founder and President of Sustainable Strategies, CSR and Sustainability consulting firm. External consultant to BSR in the United States. Presides the board of directors at CANCHAM – the Canadian bilateral chamber of commerce in Guatemala and the Carmen L. Pettersen Foundation and participates on the board of directors at the Guatemalan chapter of the Social Progress Innitiative and the Ixchel Museum.

 

Holds a BA in Political Science and Business Administration from the University of British Columbia, Canada. She earned a Master in Business Administration with specialization in Corporate Strategy at the University Francisco Marroquín in Guatemala / Tulane University. Additionally she holds a Diploma in Management Systems and Corporate Social Responsibility, from INCAE Business School in Costa Rica.

 

More than 12 years of experience in advising national and regional companies in designing and implementing CSR and competitive strategies. Her work with companies such as The Pantaleon Group Inc., Corporación Multi Inversiones, Minera San Rafael, Marlin Mine (Goldcorp) Fundación Castillo Córdova (Cerveceria Centroamericana), Walmart Centroamérica, Industrias Licoreras de Guatemala, Cabcorp (Central American representation for for Pepsi), AgroAmerica, British American Tabacco, Ingenio la Unión, among others has allowed her to gain experience in developing winning strategies for the region. Experience in approaches to improving supply chain management, ethics and compliance, comprehensive CSR strategies, labor competitiveness strategies, multi-secotiral strategies and measurement of CSR.

 

Nikki has taught seminars and conferences at national and regional forums such as the Universidad de Rafael Landivar, UNIS, INCAE, National Forum for Guatemalan Cleaner Production, ConvertiRSE, among others.

 

Co-author of several studies of CSR in Guatemala and Central America such as: “Guide to Socially Responsible Supply Chain”, “How to Write a Code of Ethics, “10 Business Case Studies: Companies are Responsible Guatemala “,” 6 Social Responsibility Business Case Studies”, ” CSR in Guatemala: A Perceptions Survey “, “IndiCARSE: Central American Indicators for Social Responsibility”, among others.

 

She has previously worked in CentraRSE, CSR promoter in Guatemala, at the Guatemalan National Competitiveness Promoting Program -PRONACOM, public-private initiative that promotes national competitiveness, in Development Associates Incorporated, a development consulting firm in Washington D.C., and HOPE International, a Canadian NGO that implements development programs.
